This 2012 signed edition calendar, Limited Possession, is part of a performance-based project by Colette Urban, documented at a storage facility in the community of McIvers, Newfoundland. The photographs comprise a select record of the assortment of vehicles, which have found a temporary home at Full Tilt Newfoundland Enterprises Limited.
Colette Urban is the master of operations at this facility and brings her life and work together in this photographic calendar format. Dressed for her task of parking the vehicles, which reflect an eclectic range of acquisitions, including cars from the 1950’s to contemporary 2010 sport vehicles, she poses with each one and documents the result— one for each month of the year. Quotations by Marilyn Monroe accompany each image.
Cars and gals have a long pop culture history. Limited Possession by Colette Urban continues this lineage... with a twist.
